The Second Run was Much Harder - Odd

So being lazy and all, I took a day off from the running. I actually should call it jogging since I think most people walk faster then I run! :) The last two days my legs have been a little sore. I had a headache all day on Monday after my run too. Luckily that went away yesterday. That is all the pain I have felt so far.

Today I attempted to go out again. I wasn't sure how long I wanted to go for, but it was pretty sad once I got started and I realized that I was not making it very far. I waited until later to go running because it has been so hot lately. I also had to work most of the day at a  job I do one day a week. I think this made things worse for me. I was definitely not a motivate to run as much as the other day. I left my house around 7:20pm. The sun was out, but since I live in a very old neighborhood the sun was mostly behind the trees the whole time, which made for great shade.

I started going and I thought I was nearly going to die after about 3 minutes of running. I can tell that I am more tired running now then I was the other day in the morning even though today it was pretty cool outside. I ended up walking 1.38 miles. I think I ran for about .4 of that. I did it in about 23 minutes or so. Not too bad I guess. I wanted to run more, but with my side starting to hurt and running out of breath right away, I couldn't

I have decided on a few things that I need to follow.
  1. Don't eat right before you go for a run. Especially McDonald's (which I did today). - can you tell I have not started working on the diet yet! I know you probably are saying, "Well Duh" but I really wanted to go for a run and I was running out of light and I happened to just eat dinner. I thought I waited long enough to go, but I guess 1/2 hour was not long enough.
  2. Get comfortable clothing. Pulling down your shorts every few minutes is not very fun and attractive.
  3. Stretch - this is very important. Even though I have been doing it before and after each run/walk I need to hold the stretch longer. Maybe then my legs will not be as sore.
Well run 2 is over. It can only get better right?
