I'm Back!

So time have slipped away from me over the past few weeks. Since I started my job, I have had a little less time to write. I have still been running, a little bit at least.  I can track back a little bit but I am little forgetful of my record. I know I took one week off in the past few weeks. I was just not up to running what so ever.
Last week I ran on Mon and Wed. Friday I had to babysit otherwise I would have gone out. I went on Monday (two days ago) and I had every intention to go today. However, we have a woodpecker that is making a hole in our house and he keeps coming back. I have to go out there each time I hear him (already 5 times) and send him away. But of course about 5 minutes later he is back. I am afraid to leave because the hole is already about 2 inches round. Any bigger he will be able to get in.

So overall, my running has slacked. Some days I am better than others. On Monday I got the worst side ache while running. It was the first time in a while. My knee hurts after every time I run. And my energy is gone lately. I am hoping I can get back into it. I have about 1 month before the Halloween run. I guess we will see. Until next time.

Huh!

So I realized 2 weird things that helps me run better and longer today. The first one is that I like to run on cement over tar. I tend to run on the side of the road right next to the curb where there is a small cement section. I also like sidewalks, only where I run there is only one for about 2 blocks. I also find myself getting sad when there is too much junk, dirt or a car on the side of the road that I have to run around it. Kind of weird!

My second thing is that I love me some Dave Ryan in the Morning! I forget how much I miss listening to them. It has been since November that I have listened to them. Now that I get up earlier I can catch some of their show. I find that I can run longer when I listen to them verse just music on the radio. I tend to forget what I am doing and just listen to them. Therefore I can run longer. I noticed that when they took a break and a played a song I was back to concentrating on my running, which makes me thing "What am I doing" or "God I am tired." Kind of weird huh!

So today you would be proud. I ran the entire way!! I went out for the 2.5 mile stretch this morning. I always start out by walking to the end of my street which is only .07 miles, then I start to run. I made it all the way around until I got back to my street again. Since I at the other end of the street it was a .2 mile walk back home. Therefore I ran 2.28 miles straight! Yeah! I am considering adding on the last 1/2 mile next week to my run. I am kind of excited for it because I will get to run down my favorite road that goes along the river. The houses are beautiful. Anyhow, I didn't cut much time off my run but I did it in about 36 minutes. So 1 minute quicker then normal.  I guess I don't walk that slow them.

So I leave myself saying huh to my discoveries and to my distance I ran. Hopefully the next run goes just as well!
